5x7 drawing journal

I just realized that I had posted some of my older pages on Facebook but not on my blog.  I like to have everything on my blog.  It's a great way to archive my pages.  That's why I post nearly every page I make.
The eye on the octopus was a tutorial I followed on pinterest.  It was super easy and I think it turned out pretty good.  Definitely learned a few things by doing it.
I was playing around with making a christmas card in my journal one morning while at the coffee shop, but I wasn't crazy about the figure so I never finished it.  It was inspired by a sweater that one of the customers was wearing.

Someone told me that they liked my old style better than this current style.  I appreciate the feedback but it made me stop all journaling in this smaller (drawing) journal and start a large one where I went back to my old style (see previous post).  Which...actually...felt really good.  Like putting on an old familiar favorite sweater.  But looking at these drawings again makes me want to pick up my pencil & pen again.  I need to meld the two better...something to work on in 2013.

  3. I adore both your «old» and «current» style.
The older colorful one is loved by thousands and quite «copied», so this one with lots of detailed drawing kinda feel fresh.
I am SURE you will find out how to create something with both in it, you love experimenting, and it is just that.
Until then, what I would do is just play and have fun and let it all out if you see what i mean ;)

    Thanks for sharing, Teesha.

I'm enjoying the heck out of your new style. Like Nolwenn said above, your older style has been adopted by so many. But, heck, whatever we like doesn't really matter; it's your journal to play in!

  9. Don't stop doing what you love, no matter what anyone says. I love your new style and I think it is selfish of "fans" to criticize someone when their style changes because this is YOUR expression, not something you are doing for the benefit of others.
I personally think it is absolutely wonderful to watch someone grow and change.

  11. I love your new stuff Teesha and I love your old stuff too but the new stuff is really fascinating as it is interesting to see what you create without all your bits and pieces of papers and of course without your fabulous color...keep sharing it all, we all learn how to take risks from you and your magic fingers!
xo Happy New Year to you and yours

  14. Teesha , I adore both styles equally . The bursts of color are a treat for the eye but the intricate swirls and details of the pen and ink are fascinating . Just like most others have already stated .. do what you want .. whatever you are inspired by .. it's what keeps you true to yourself and your art !

  17. It's difficult (and refreshing at the same time) - loving two very different styles and wanting to play with both. But I find that nice, to love both kinds of work. Because no matter which you're working in, they are always enjoyed (by you and by us).

I don't think we can truly be creative unless we push ourselves to do things out of our comfort zone
