randomness with a splash of macabre

Just unloaded over 100 photos from my camera...thought I'd post a few.  Love cool sky shots.

LOVED the simple white flowers on this window.  Wanna do this somewhere...maybe a wall.

don't really like this art installation in the foyer of the Seattle Art Museum but it IS odd...didn't have time to go in.

I was waiting on the sidewalk for Tracy who was getting another latte and felt someone staring at me.  This what what I saw when I looked up.

This is the macabre part.  We have wild bunnies in our yard.  We've had them for a couple years now.  I looked out the window only to squeal in delight at the baby bunnies running around when Sophie (our norwegian elkhound) emerged from the woods with something furry in her mouth.  I had to snap a photo before Tracy took care of the little guy.  when else could I get that close?  btw...the next picture is of some squid...NOT the bunny...

This might be even more macabre.  We have a new philipino market close by and I bought this grilled squid for dinner.  Needless to say, Tracy was NOT enthused.

My good friend, Andrew Dyrdahl, made me this couture jumper from a printed piece of fabric I got from England.  It's so cool.

The hand stitching was crazy.

  1. I love sky shots too. There is nothing more humbling than a sky ablaze as the sun goes down to let you know you are just a small part of this universe!

  3. Egads, woman! At first glance since you said "before Tracy took care of it" we see the bunny, then the next picture is something cooked!! EEPS!! Shades of Glenn Close! shudder...
Now, I'm laughing. You totally freaked me out!

  7. The artist, Cai Guo-Qiang, who did the cars at SAM created a fabulous installation at Mass MoCA with the same cars. I was really excited to see it again when the SAM opened but it fell completely flat. At Mass MoCA you felt like time had stopped mid-explosion, mid-spinout and somehow you were observing. It was stunning. I think the stuff in the SAM wasn't nearly as nice.

He has some other stuff with gunpowder on paper you might like. May be worth a google.
