I think this is it. The artfest 2011 logo. It feels so weird writing 2011. where did the time go. I mean seriously?! Anyway...been trying to work on other logo ideas but nothing else is clicking with me (this isn't 100% either but...out of the rest...). Is it too cute? I think that is my problem with it.
Anyway...based on this logo, what could be a theme that ties in that you could wrap your mind around? (i.e. feathered friends, pale freckled eggs, imaginary plants, etc.) or just have the logo and no theme. I used to go themeless for artfest but it seemed people like one for their trades and gallery pieces. Anyway, I'm all ears.

Birds of a feather flock together for a theme.
ReplyDeleteHi Teesha,
ReplyDeleteI have been following you forever but have never commented on anything. How about BOTANICAL BIRDS.By the way your art is magical. I can never wait to see what you do next.
I love birds of a feather, idea.
ReplyDeleteto add mine.....eggs make me think of incubators, so something about incubating ideas or hatching, now this is sounding corny as I write it never mind

"Nourishing Creative Growth" is your theme. Let people interpret it however they wish. It's a beautiful logo. One I'd be proud to wear on a t-shirt or skirt pocket.
ReplyDeleteTo me it looks like a mother bird nourishing and caring for her eggs/offspring. I agree with Cheryl. Nourishing creative growth is a great theme.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is fantastic. Birds of a feather sounds good to me!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cheryl and Marie. Nourishing Creative Growth (at) Artfest 2011 is a great theme... Oh how I would love to go. I love the logo. It's not too cute, it's awesome. I like it as is but would love to see how you would add color to it.
ReplyDeleteTess
I definitely like the birds theme too - art taking flight, nourishing nest, all that sort of thing. Birds are magical creatures!
ReplyDeleteHow about "Feathered and Fanciful"
ReplyDeletei love it. the bird feels mystical, magical to me. anthropomorphic. it doesn't feel "too cute" to me. it totally works.
ReplyDeleteI actually like the egg thing - hatching creative new ideas - rebirth of artfest for yet another year. Having said that, I like all the other ideas too!
ReplyDeletethe first thing I thought of when I saw it was hatching creative ideas too! I love the idea of birds of a feather too...Both of those tie in with nourishing creative growth and everyone could interpret that their own way.
ReplyDeleteCool!
Cheryl
It's a combination of cute/freaky (the bird person), the rest is quite invitational and intriguing. I love the idea of using bird/flight/wings representing nurturing (eggs), nesting (the community of artfesters) and taking flight(the inspiration and techniques we acquire)!
ReplyDeleteI love this logo, not too cute. But if you weren't 100% sold on it, what about flipping through your picture-a-day black and white drawings for some inspiration?
ReplyDeleteTeesha- Love it just as it is!
ReplyDeleteI don't like what appears to be a naked human behind sitting there on the ground. I think it is unintentionally suggestive in a bad way.
ReplyDeleteThe rest is great!
I just have to say that I am really missing having AFF to look forward to!
ReplyDeletemissing you and the creative spirits!
I like the logo a lot, it's not too cute, there is actually something quite raw in it.
ReplyDeleteHow about 'Black and whit'e as a theme.
Or 'From a bird's eye view'...
I like the associations of 'eggs' too...
Orly
I'm loving the bird theme in general.
ReplyDeleteWay, way less cute than the owl. I say go for it - slight refinement only if you feel it necessary but I really like it as is! Ginny
ReplyDeleteLove this! It would look very nice on a t-shirt or a cup or a bag!
ReplyDeleteHey Teesha,
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of getting and iPad and then I saw your post and I was sunk. LOL I have been playing with it for days now and having an absolute blast. Check it out

Cheers
how about something like "sprouting wings" ?
ReplyDeleteCovers the birdiness and the plantiness...just a thought
had a great time at artfest this year and looking forward to 2011 (you're right, that is weird to type!)
How about "in the garden" or "creative garden" as a theme? It is a bit broader than the literal interpretation, but encompasses both the plant and bird parts of the image.
