update on loft

alot of you were asking to see the loft in progress.  it's slow going, but this is how it looks right now.
the frames on both walls are printed on fabric and stuffed.  I know I want to put something in them but am kinda diggin' them empty too.  haven't decided.

mmm...naptime.

I'm finding that I don't want much in my new space.  I want it to remain spare and condusive to painting/journaling.  I want it to be a calm place without too much around.  am still working on unpacking and figuring it all out but am in no hurry.  The table space is grand.  each of the 3 tables are 3-1/2' x 6-1/2' and has a small hole space for a powerstrip (under the grey panel).  I got these at Ikea and can raise the legs if I want a standing workspace.  Super cool.  I'm not diggin' my old orange sectional up there, but it wasn't being used anymore so I figured why not.  Now that it is up there, I don't have the heart to have the guys lug it back home again.  oh well.  will update again in about a month when it is all nice and messy with paint and canvases...!

I LOVE your set of journal books and the postcards. Very beautiful and full of inspiration to me...and thanks so kindly for the extras! You are my journal superhero and I wish you all the best in your crazy-amazing loft! ~Kathy

  3. Teesha!
I love the sectional. I think all you need is to hang some art on the wall above it to tie it in to the space.

  9. OH SO YUMMY!! Love it! And that orange sectional so caught my eye-those dots-what a perfect place to journal. Your fabric frames are so delightful-i love that the art is the frame and not just the "wrapping". Can't wait to see it all messy and in use! Yay for you Teesha!

  12. Those frames are awesome. By looking at them in the pics I never would have guessed they are stuffed fabric. I love the idea at sitting at that long table and jumping rfom chair to chair, artist to artist, creating and collaberating. Nice.....

  25. I like the orange sectional - it looks good with the bricks. But then, I like the color orange so I may be a bit biased :-)

And I am so jealous of your tables - oh the messes I could make!!!

  26. I must know about those frames...you had to know people were going to ask. Did you print them and then cut it out to make a frame??? Inquiring, artistic minds want to know!

  27. OK guys...next time I go into seattle, I will take better shots of the frames and post them here asap. I bought them at the wholesale gift show a few years ago...I will look on the back of them and see if there is a tag of some kind.

  31. those stuffed frames are GENIUS! i like 'em empty too. but it'd be easy enough to just tack random things inside of them too, and easy to switch out. looks like your space is coming along nicely!
