I have a new attendee who signed up for my Artfest Retreat and she recently learned that she cannot make it. She wants to gift the registration to someone who can't afford to come and who is deserving. It is for "off campus" but I am going to include a shared dorm room for the recipient. You would be able to pick from any of the classes that are not full. If you have never been to Artfest because you couldn't afford it but always wished you could come, we want to hear from you in 100 words or less why it should go to you. Please include your full name and age. We will have a panel of people who decide who it goes to based on this short essay. The deadline is feb. 10th. We will notify the winner by valentines day. Please send your essay to artgirl777@aol.com
This is so cool of you and the person who cannot attend!!! It warms my heart. xox
ReplyDeletewow! this is fantastic, to pass it on to someone deserving...heartwarming for sure!
ReplyDeleteWell...I couldn't even afford to get your side of the country anyway...but so nice to see the giving nature of people for someone who can have the fun of taking advantage of it. Yay!

ReplyDeleteIt is a huge dream of mine to "go home" and attend artfest! One of these days, when I can afford to fly across the pond, I hope to do so. How lucky for one of your readers to get the opportunity to attend, how lovely of the person who can't make it to donate the space. I feel all warm and fuzzy now.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing gift!
ReplyDeleteHow thoughtful and giving....
ReplyDeletexo....
I have been quietly following your art and blog for awhile. I find your work enchanting and enjoy the visual break. But when I read you post about giving a class away I had to write you and say how amazing you must be in real life.... The world needs more kind, loving souls like you.....
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of someone to do this and you too.
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely of all involved, i wish i could get over my fear of flying and come and visit - I'd love to organise a version of artfest in the uk, it's badly needed. You, artists and creative people in general constantly uplift my faith in human nature. xxx
ReplyDeleteSorry, didn't mean to post the above post under anonymous, clicked the wrong button!!!! duh!

ReplyDeleteThis is really great.
ReplyDeleteI plan to come some day, but I have to get to the U.S.A. first, haha.
This is a ~wonderful~ thing to do... i was once gifted a spiritual retreat which had a profound effect on my life... Who knows the ~stone in the pond~ effect that this gesture might have <3 (Ps) Teesha one day you must come to Australia~Melbourne to play X:-)
ReplyDeletewow! how cool! i have had a friend attend, and she absolutely gushes about it. how kind of you both!
ReplyDeleteGreat gesture!
ReplyDeleteI have paid it forward in my life, but this gift of art? . . . very special from someone who has a big heart!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful person that person is to gift this!
ReplyDeleteOMG....I would so love to go to Artfest. I live in Houma, LA and there is really nothing to offer us here to be able to participate in something like this with like minded people. I can't afford to really travel to these venues and then pay for a place to stay and all that goes along with it. I would be so grateful if you would pick me.
ReplyDeleteHow nice! Pay it forward!
ReplyDeleteWow...how awesome is that!! I have drooled over art fest for years now as I gave birth to 3 children and wish and wished that some day I would be free enough to go. Of course now we have a child in a wheelchair whose needs take up all the expendable cash so the dreams seems even further away! Sometimes people just amaze me still!
ReplyDeleteTeesha, I always thought you were a generous soul, and I can see that so are your fans. God bless all of you! Hugs, Julie <3
