Chito Beach

This is the cabin we are staying at.  www.chitobeach.com   Chito Beach is 1-1/2 hrs. west of Port Angeles and 1/2 hr. east of Neah Bay and about 10 minutes west of clallum bay and seiku.

The (super comfy) bed is up the stairs.  There is a nifty reading perch right by a big huge window.

Amazing view from inside the cabin and the deck.

The waves come right up to the rocks under the house at high tide.

Tracy precariously took this shot barely balancing on a giant slippery rock.

I had to include this little co-op in clallum bay because the australian couple running it were very interesting (and inspiring) to talk to.  We felt like we had found kindred souls.

Jane and Terry are making a difference up here with their super healthy foods at super cheap prices and their philosophy of life.  www.westendcoop.weebly.com.  I know in a few years they will turn clallum bay into a magical destination town that will be making decisions from the heart and not the pocketbook or beaurocracy.  More power to them!

Jane made a vegemite sandwich for Tracy since he seemed so curious to try it.  He liked it!

  6. After Artfest 2008 my family joined me from Michigan for our Spring Break trip. We headed out the Olympic Peninsula and stayed at Klaloch (sp?) for 3 days. Amazing! My kids will never forget that trip. Your photos are bringing it back. Have a great time.

  11. Most people who have not grown up with Vegemite tend to put too much on their bread when they try it. You only need a scrape - too much and it's horrible.
Lovely photos of your trip. The cabin looks delightful.
