more videos coming soon

Tracy and I were so thrilled with the feedback I got on my first video that it got us jazzed to keep going with the journaling process.  Saturday morning I woke up and couldn't wait to get started.  Tracy was working on projects of his own so I decided to do it myself.  I went through the process which took about 3 hours and when I got all through with it I realized I didn't have the camera in the right spot and most of what I was showing was off camera.  Argh!  Lesson learned.  I was so bummed that I spent the rest of the day cleaning...and being in a bad mood.  Thankfully I woke up this morning back to my chipper self and tracy was willing to stand on a chair the entire time working the camera so we could document the journaling process.  We are playing around with some stuff based on some of the comments.  One of which is that we are uploading it to youtube in hopes that you can enlarge the screen, etc.  By the end of tonight, we should have a few more videos up on youtube if you do a search for my name.  We will post them here in the next few days as well.  This is all just experimenting and playing on our part but we are encouraged to do more.  Thanks for all the feedback.  I was in shock to see so many comments.  btw...the picture at the top was the result of the demo I did on saturday that didn't tape good.  it's unfinished.

  5. Hi Teesha (and Tracy). Say, Jackie and I have been doing videos, too (for www.illustratingstories.com -- ISFlicks on YouTube). Anyway, a friend mentioned to me (and he's a brilliant SEO/Marketing mind) that placing your web address (via a callout) to play in the lower right corner for the duration of the video is a GREAT way to bring people to your website (e.g., from YouTube or wherever the video is embedded). I'm not sure if you're interested in doing that, but I thought I'd pass along the tip...

Also, I'm so GLAD that you're doing these and they are posted to YouTube now -- it is the only venue (that we've encountered, anyway) that, also, plays on the iPhone! YAY! =)

Thanks so much for sharing these AWESOME tutorials. They (and you) ROCK!

Thank you so much for sharing your videos. They are such a gift to those of us that cannot attend events like Journalfest (we need something like this is Australia).

Would be great if once you have done a few if you could compile them onto a DVD - could watch them over and over on a really big screen. Just an idea that you might consider further down the track.

Thanks again for being so generous and sharing - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
    Love MB

  7. Thank you for so generously sharing your techniques. I for one really appreciate them. I live in the UK and although people here do journal, I personally do not know of anyone near to where I live who does, so this is great. I love books, but seeing it done first hand and the thoughts behind it is brilliant. Once again, a big thank you.

  11. I watched all of your tutorials today. Thank you for taking the time to do these. Despite having read your written words in various places about your process it comes off different in real life somehow. I love hearing of your process even though I don't copy your work in my own art journaling. I loved hearing you say things like you work fast and little tips like that to encourage us all to just flow on with it and not slow down to try to get things super perfectly cut out or whatever.

One weird thing for some reason from your writing somewhere I thought you used acrylic gel medium as your glue for the collage pieces. When I did that the pens didn't write well on it so I was stuck. I didn't realize you used that gizmo for your collage glue.

One idea is there a way you can flip the camera upside down or flip the video so we see your view like we are looking over your shoulder? Like in photoshop how we can flip a photo upside down, don't know if that works with video.

THANK YOU for making this and also to Tracey for standing on a chair holding the camera that whole time. What a helpful and thoughtful hubby you have. :)

  18. I love your work and have been following your blog for quite a while now and am delighted to see your step-by-step demo videos. Only one request: Is it possible (overhead mirror perhaps?) to see your demos presented not upside down? It would really help.
Again, thank you for sharing your work. You are an inspiration for many of us.
