hold tight

If any of you are wondering where the lettering video is, we will get something up soon. Life is getting in the way right now. In the meantime, keep doing penwork in the form of dots, swirlies, circles, ...lots and lots of penwork. This is the part I didn't discuss and while I do alot of the journaling fast and furious, this is the part that I slow down with and be more meditative about. There is a wonderful blissfulness that comes from allowing your right brain to simply execute random marks while keeping your left brain out of it entirely. especially when you are listening to good music at the same time. don't have good music to draw to? Go to itunes, look for the artist, "Cell". Get "live at glade festival". it may not be my ultimate favorite but it is excellent.

ps...if you want examples of doodling, just look back at previous journal page posts and you will see it now that you are looking for it. OH...and I have so many ideas for more videos! check back in a few days.

I also watched all the videos. You have done a really wonderful job with them. You really have a knack for great videos: clear instructions and a flair for describing why you like certain supplies and techniques best. I actually made and painted a journal. The directions are super for the large sheet of paper! No waste and easy to bind. Truly, thank you so much!

Hi Teesha, I just wanted to say thank you. I loved my time a Journalfest! What an amazing and inspiring group of people. I'm looking forward to my first Artfest. I'm enjoying your videos too. I've had some of those pan pastels sitting around waiting for me to play with them, so it was nice to see how they are working for you. Again, thanks so much.

I've always said I don't do journals, it's not my thing. Then I watched your videos, so clear and fun, demystifying a few things for me, that I went straight to my table and started a journal (almost finished now). I work intuitively so your instructions were perfect for me. You are the most generous soul on earth -- THANK YOU!

Thanks for the videos - I learned so much and am looking forward to seeing the rest.
So great of you and Tracy to share your info. Re: the left and right brain thing - I noticed in a few parts of the videos when you were getting into it - it was a struggle to switch back to the other side to speak about what you were doing. Aren't our brains amazing? And you must be a true artist because your brain switches over to that artistic side so so so quickly!
Love it - keep it up - we are all waiting - patiently!

Many thanks and gratitude for your wonderful videos. You have inspired me to actually make a journal and I've done my first page - all this after putting it off for over 2 years because I didn't know how to start and was afraid of messing up!
There's no stopping me now - thank you !

I am just so thrilled that you have put up all these videos that I can't tell you! I heard about the first one the day before yesterday but couldn't get to it until now. I've watched it and now have all the rest to look forward to.
Thank you! It makes me feel better about never being able to get to any of your events...

I'm just blown away by the videos. Apparently the pastels are not available in my state, I haven't looked for the markers yet. I think I got the name of the paper OK - I'm going to have to go back thru for a list of supplies; most are unfamiliar to me! Anyway, when I looked online it seems there are panpastels and something called tints and shades - are there particular types you like? I can't find an explanation of the differences. Thanks so much; what an awesome artist you are! Linda B.

Teesha, Again, saying what everyone else has - wonderful videos and so easy to follow and understand. I was inspired to do my own today!

I had a couple questions maybe you could address in the next video. I already had my "stash" to pull from, but how do you get your images? Do you just sit down one night and pull things from mags and how is it sorted? if at all?lol. Like, do you keep faces separate from patterns - etc. And do you have a certain system for finding these or do they find you? I'm sure we would all be interested in that.

The other thing was, I know you said you just go without thinking, but once you get so far doesn't a theme or story come to you? I was starting randomly and then I saw a story appear. Is that just me or do you get that too. It is hard for me to go without planning and this was very good in that respect but I still found myself having a "purpose" for the picture. Do you know what I mean?

Anyways, now that I've wrote my own story! :)

My page is here http://fromthepines.blogspot.com/2009/11/art-journaling-la-teesha.html

Thank you! Have a good day!
