we did it! we only bought a video camera 3 years ago to make videos on how we do stuff and finally just jumped in and did it....(I hope). I'm posting this to see if it works and isn't too big, etc.
great video - looking forward to the next one... you sure recovered from journalfest quickly... i've just finished unpacking... and your making videos! your amazing.
For your first video you did great! The directions were very clear. I like how you only showed the supplies and your hands...it was not distracting at all. I love that you had black sleeves on. No other distrations on the table top. Very thorough. Thank you for posting it! Terisa
Oh you are a goddess! That is the best, most straightforward bookmaking video I have ever seen! Like I've seen a lot of those??? You get my drift... Easy peasy and no fuss. So many books are so confusing.
Ok when is the NEXT video??? Can't wait!!!
I plan on going to Journalfest next year! My friend Orly Avineri taught at this years! I so wanted to go... but I digress.... Thank you! Thank you!
Love the video Teesha! Can't wait for the next one. The journal looks fun to make, and I just might try it! I just wish I could make the video full screen, but I can't find a way to do that!
Thanx Teesha for this video. Felt like I was in San Jose with you again. I have never attempted to make another since I came home, so now I really want to. Can't wait for the paint one. Yea!!! Thanx, Sharon
What a fine explaination of making such a nice journal. I will be out looking for the correct paper today and I'm looking forward to you next video on this topic.
Thanks so much for the excellent video tutorial! You make it look so easy! I'm definitely going to make a few and give them as gifts to my journaling friends! Thanks, Teesha - love your work and all you give to the art world!
Great video! I especially loved the little tips, like which direction to pull the thread. I'm a novice bookmaker and didn't know why sometimes I'd tear the thread. Thanks a bunch!
Thank you for the video tutorial. It played perfectly on my computer and I don't have the fastest speed available. No skips or hesitations. Very easy to follow. I'm going to find some paper right now and make one even though it won't be the paper you recommend. When is the next vid? Is it here yet? (just kidding, being like a kid on a long drive. are we there yet?)Thank you for your generous sharing.
Luscious! I am off to make one so that I'll be ready for the painting by tomorrow...you will have that ready by then, right? Sorry, I know you are amazing...but you are allowed to take tomorrow off and rest up. You did a great job. Thanks a tonne (I'm Canadian we have bigger tonnes.) :)
YES! Finally Teesha does videos. You don't know how long I have waited for this. I just wish the video would go full screen. It doesn't seem to want to in my browser, which is a shame, my eyesite isn't quite good enough for videos that small. I'll have to try a couple other browsers and see if that helps.
The video is great, thank you so much. I'm a longtime fan and I've had your printed instructions for years but I've been a bit intimidated about starting. This looks like an easy project and I'm off right now to try it!
Hi Tesha, This is my first visit (got it from The Latest Trends In Mixed Media Arts)This vist won't be my last. Thank you for the really neat video. Gale
Your videos are absolutely inspiring. I'm an art journal teacher from the Netherlands and am constantly pointing our your work to my students as being highly original and creative. I had a go at your techniques a few times...and it did leave its traces in my work, I think.
Your 16-page journal is a fab idea! And at the risk of sounding pompous, I wonder why I didn't think of it myself. I've been making books ever since I was 5 years old. But for my Art Journals I've always sought expensive good quality books, or I bound complicated journals. But sometimes I was left with the desire to make a thinner, theme-related jorunal...well, this is THE best idea ever. And I love the flaps!!! I can't wait to write my own blurb on the front flap and some quirky info about myself on the rear flap!!!
So, thanks a lot for sharing your wonderful ideas with us!
Thanks so much. I must see if I can get that paper here in the UK. Your journals look absolutely fabulous. I am so looking forward to having a go at making one.
Thank you for sharing! I can't join any one of your workshops soon as I am in the Philippines but technology is a great gift to us! I love your work and I've shown it to many people here in the Philippines as an example of "You can do ANYTHING!"
I'm an idiot. Just starting out on the journal adventure and would like to get a good start. What brand of paper do you use? I know you said no to Arches but didn't catch what you do use.
Thanks so much. I am looking forward to the lettering video.
Nicely done. I'll be watching the additional videos too. You mention waxed polyester thread as preferred to waxed linen. Can you tell me/us why you have this preference?
WOW! Thanks for so generously sharing this with everyone. As you can see, you're in high demand! I'm so excited... I went and bought the paper and tonight I'm going to make myself a journal. And if you were here, I'd kiss you on the lips. Lucky for you you're not here!
teesha! ever since I saw this video, I KNEW I had to try it. I finally did tonight. Easy, fun and beautiful. I made a few mistakes, but its all part of the fun, right? Great video series!
Oh Teesha, you are such a natural at giving instruction. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible talents with the world. I'm a so excited to try and make a 16 page journal. Can't wait to take a trip to Blick and get some large Fabriano watercolor paper.
