good grief

Time sure has been flying these days. the world is spinning faster and faster. I've had my nose to the grindstone with details regarding Journalfest and Artfiberfest and Artfest teacher picking. Not to mention that we leave in 2 days for San Jose to teach a 2-day Journaling workshop. we are heading from there down the california coast, ending up in my favorite city (LA) and flying home from there (total of 10 days away...eeeyikes!). Needless to say, I haven't had a lot of time for other things...like blogging.

But Tracy Lyn Huskamp's comment always comes back to haunt me...she mentioned (during the opening night talk) at Artfiberfest last year that she gets upset at bloggers who don't post very often and that it wastes her time to keep checking. I never thought of it like that but I see her point and have made a valiant effort to improve my posting frequency this past year. There is still room for improvement.

Life is pretty normal around here. finally got my hair dyed...it was so gray, it was almost white. feels good to look 10 years younger again. trying to eat vegetarian for the most part. just makes me feel better. Bought the book Superfoods by David Wolfe and been making goji berry, cacao, maca, bee pollen, hempseed smoothies every morning for breakfast. Although tommorrow I have to go to my naturopathic dr. because of a breakout of hives all over my chin and neck. I think it is all the health food...

I sure feel like something is afoot...behind the scenes...like in a universal sense. Something big is going to happen soon I think...not sure what. But weird intuitive feelings have me wondering. I think the next couple of months will be interesting. we'll see.

sorry for only one journal page today. I have a lot that are halfway there. I expect I will have at least a dozen when I get back from our CA. trip. Will try to blog along the way from my hotel room.

Have a great trip! Also, I really know what you mean about that universal feeling...me, too.

I have you on Bloglines so that I don't have to check; your name is shown in bold lettering when there is a new post. I follow 80 blogs so it would be impossible for me to check each one.

Have a safe and fun trip. I think all of us are going tooooo fast. When we should all be sitting around the campfire telling stories, dancing and roasting food together instead. Oh, and journaling too. Of course. With libations. xo

I don't know. Maybe I'm callous, but I always believe that most people (bloggers included) are doing the best they can with what they've got. When someone goes quiet for a while, I assume they are just really busy with the business of real life -- the important stuff. I cut them slack. Then, I pop their blog into my feed reader so I can catch them when they're back! This is why God invented feed readers -- so good people like you don't have to feel guilty! :)

Ditto -ing the last two comments - politely suggest people use a reader so that they are notified when you post something. Who wants to live under the expectation that one should be always available, witty, amusing, artistic and creative. I've resolved to stop looking at other people's blogs so much and pull my finger out and create something of my own - instead of daydreaming and waking up to a sink full of dirty dishes!
Re: something happening - have you read "The Fourth Turning" - very interesting!

She can easily set up a feed list through RSS...no time wasted...and no posts missed.

And...it doesn't clog up your inbox.

No guilt required.
I'm so excited when I see a post from you.
I follow your blog (and many others) with Bloglines - then I don't have to keep checking - no time wasted :)
Keep up the great work.

i'm with you on the blogging, trying to be more frequent and consistent but have lots of room to improve. Using bloglines makes it easy to see who posts when though, so i'd recommend it to people who don't want to check the actual blog all the time for updates

i hope you both both have a wonderful trip to your favorite city!

(and yes, i too feel something afoot...)

agree with using reader, I try to leave guilt at the curb when it comes to my creative life :)

All the best with your trip and new stirrings that you feel brewing!

I use Google reader - so like bloglines it notifies me when someone posts a new blog post. No checking over and over :)

I'd agree about Google Reader. No need to check all your fav blogs. It'll condense them all into one place and check for ya. Just awwwesome.

Your latests journaling page is wonderful. I love the absence of color yet it looks cohesive. Have fun traveling and teaching!

I agree, somethings right around the corner and I can't quite put my finger on it. I'm getting that it is optimal to think that way.

"This is why God invented feed readers"...exactly. While it's a good idea to blog consistently if you're out to earn a living from it, even then, real life has to come first before the virtual life. That's where all of your posts come from anyways.

When I see a blogger who hasn't posted in awhile all I think is either I hope something isn't wrong, or I'm happy that they're out there enjoying life. Live your life with joy and passion, and let everything else fall into place. (Sorry, just watched the movie Serendipity today...I'm CRAZY for that movie!)

Hi Teesha-
I was in your San Jose workshop and I have to say a huge "thanks" again (I think I thanked you a bunch of times on Fri. and Sat.). It was the most invigorating, inspirational, fun workshop I've attended in years! Really! You and Tracy are the greatest people! I hope you have a super rest-of-your-trip in California and that you'll return rested and ready to plan your next jaunt down here! As for blogging, I always think our 3-D lives are top priority and our blog lives, though a delightful way to communicate, come second.
Just my two cents.
