While at our PLAy retreat, I saw
http://www.carlasonheim.com/ using a set of pelikan watercolors and she made it look so fun. So since I have only ever used tube watercolors (and only for backgrounds), I decided to pick myself up a set (with my 40% coupon at aaron brothers). Today I decided to play around with them. Clearly, I need more practice with both the painting (and the drawing!!)...but I was hoping if I scanned it in, it might look better (it doesn't). But I have to say it was tons of fun...I like having a palette ready to go.
Hello Teesha! I just love what you get up to!! My friend Ali has just begun this and I was wonderingif you were interested? I know you're a busy woman, so don't feel obliged. I just think it's a wayto spread the love:

ReplyDeleteOf course I love everything you do, but do you remember those Martha Stewart punches of the dove, flower and leaf? I can't wait to see what you do with those....Please hurry!!!

ReplyDeletePlease...they are wonderful...for a minute I thought you had made a new collage sheet!
Smiles, Andra
As an inexpensive portable set, you might find these more vibrant and better mixing than the Pelikan:

Hiya Teesha! I adore your website's homepage! So cool...
ReplyDeleteThat's sad you don't like this piece! I especially like the horned fellow, he makes me smile. Watercolours are lovely for experimenting... I use mine with brush in one hand and paper towel in the other for dabbing away areas so the paint doesn't end up looking flat.
