OMG...I can't even tell you how excited I get at this time every year when all the Artfest proposals come pouring in...and I mean POURING in. It's a good thing actually that I get so many to choose from but the downside is having to tell folks they didn't make it in. But back to the fun part...There are some seriously crazy good workshops that have been submitted and it always renews my passion in all the planning aspects of this behemouth of a retreat! LOL. The deadline is monday so we still have some time, but I have been getting a head start on the process because of the sheer volume. Let me tell you...Artfest 2009 will be slammin' good. I hate to tease you with this when you still have to wait until the end of july to see the delights that await...but I had to say something because I am just SO EXCITED!
The above 2 journal pages are frozen right now...meaning I can't finish them off because I actually like a page for a change! LOL...I am in that stage of feeling like I will ruin it. BAD place to be in for art. So I figure before I ruin it, I will post it here. LOL. The empty spaces are bugging me and yet...not sure what to do in them...
anyhoo...back to the proposal pile...
I love it just the way it is. Thanks for showing us. Maybe now that you have a record of it, it will be easier to add to. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the page. I am very excited to see what workshops pop up this year. Last year was my best artfest yet! I know you can top it :)
ReplyDeletePS don't forget to look me up if you come to Ithaca in August.
Gorgeous pages!
ReplyDeleteNow that I am in the Northwest I am so happy to be closer to Artfest. I may actually be able to go this year!! So glad you updated the blog..you really inspire me!
ReplyDeleteYay! Just when I was missing all the creative souls at Artfest '08, something to bring me back :)
ReplyDeleteYour page is awesome, by the way! They are all fabulous! Ruin it? naw....just creative journeys and lessons...
As soon as your spread popped up on my computer screen, I said, "ooooooh!" I think the empty spaces are lovely. Sometimes we need empty spaces to let some air in (in life and in art.)
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about artfest because I just recently found you here, but I am looking forward to learning more.
I am untrained and struggling to find my voice in my work. I spend each day thinking about art but actually find little time to create. I have begun checking a few blogs of artists I love (Tim Holtz, Michelle Ward, Claudine Helmuth, Jenny Doh) and I stumbled on your site and must tell you I am blown away. Your work excites me in a way that few other artists do and your very meticulously cared for website is just pure eye candy. I could spend hours just touring your work. I ordered your magazine after reading this blog post because even though you consider it unfinished it takes me breath away. Thanks for sharing it and I can't wait for my first issue.
ReplyDeleteWow, Teesha! You have really been blog busy lately. Thanks for all the posts. I'll see you in Carson in July!
ReplyDeleteI love the pages just as they are. Then realized what was missing, her story. Who is she, what is she, where is she, what is she thinking, feeling? The pages are finished just as they are, but, if you must add to them maybe add her story in the empty spaces.
ReplyDeleteI love your sight and your work! Your journals are so full of feeling it is sometimes overwhelming to see and other times so energizing. I love your journals, posts, artwork, blog, everything. Thank You so much for sharing yourself with the world.

Leave the pages just as they are!
ReplyDeleteThey are so different, and exciting, like reading workshop proposals!!!
I agree! Leave the empty spaces! The pages are just beautiful the way they are!
ReplyDeleteIf they keep calling to you, you'll know that they need you to add something more later.
I Can't wait to hear about the Artfest 2009 workshops, I plan to go and it will be my first Artfest experience! (Shudderering with excitement!)
Your journal pages are so much fun that you inspired me to try my own over at http://amusingmuses2.blogspot.com
