Drop everything, drive to the nearest bookstore and buy Foolsgold by Susan Wooldridge. I am TOTALLY serious! I just opened it up this morning over my bowl of cereal and by the 4th page of the introduction, I had to put it down and go fix my mascara that had started to spread around my moist eyes. Susan is a gem and really, truly gets it. She puts feelings into words and reminds us why creativity is SO important. Get the book...you won't regret it.
SHE is an INCREDIBLE LADY. I ADORED her workshop at Artfest!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read the book... thanks for the recommendation.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the book suggestion.
ReplyDeleteIt is just what I needed!
this looks so good.. just may have to get this one! thks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteI ran right out and bought it. (Are you a hypnotist, Teesha?)I have been reading it in bits: at the dentist's office, in the car while picking up my kids, just before sleep, in the morning with my coffee, and during potty breaks at work. I love it. I have so much to learn about letting my engineering/practical side go and just playing. I have even more to learn about connecting with deep emotions. I'm a joker, not a cryer. Maybe that will change as I read this book over and over again.
ReplyDeleteI'm also enjoying it in bits and pieces...it's the kind of book I don't want to read in one sitting, as I miss so much. I also bought my copy at our local independent bookstore so I'm feeling particularly virtuous as well...thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteHi Teesha, I was very happy to see your recommendation for Susan's book! Those of us who took her workshop KNEW it would be great!
ReplyDeleteShe really is an amazing person - hope you have her back at Artfest 08.
P.S. We almost have our poetry book done (of stuff we all wrote in her class) - you're on the list!
Hope all is well. Ginny Ballou
