I AM OVERWHELMED AT THE MOMENT...I just got home from the post office where I received a box from Deb Denton. I was talking to Tracy about some other things on the phone while I was standing in the kitchen opening this mysterious box. It didn't look like a box for the art asylum room, as I was peeling back the hot pink and orange tissue. I gasped when I saw the most amazing book/journal I have ever seen. I told Tracy that I needed to call him back...
At least 39 artists from past artfests contributed a 5x7 handmade page that is beautifully bound into a gorgeous book! Tracy arrived home only about 10 minutes later and I was choking back the emotion as I was reading the letter aloud to him. All we could both say was WOW!!! I will be sitting down after my work day is through tonight and reading through every single page and just savoring every little detail. Boy you really know how to make someone feel like the queen of the universe!
...you all just have to see it. I'll bring it to Artfest so you can stop by and see it in the gallery! To everyone who contributed...I don't even know what to say...Thank you from the bottom of my heart doesn't even begin to cut it. I'm still in wonder and amazement!

Teesha, Deb gets all the credit. It was her vision and her energy that made the journal happen. Those of us who were lucky enough to take part were thrilled to have a chance to say a proper thank you to you and Tracy for all you do for us, for giving us Artfest. It was an honor to be included with all those fabulous artists. I'm so glad you like it!

Dear Teesha and Tracy,
ReplyDeleteI was so happy to be a part of Deb's journal idea...what a fabulous thank-you note! I, personally, can't thank you enough for all of the doors that you opened for me....I know I am living a whole different life than I would have been without having met you both. As Michelle said, Deb gets the credit for conceiving the project and for seeing it all the way through from a concept to a reality....and keeping it our little secret from you!!!Glad you like it...you both deserve all of our thanks.
Fondly,
Laurie Mika
Glad you were surprised. This book has been a year in the making! It was hard to keep a seceret that long. Enjoy your feast on all the eye candy!
ReplyDeleteTeesha, as we all said in the journal, thank YOU for being such an inspiration to us all. I credit Artfest 100% for reawakening a creative muse that had long been slumbering.

Teesha,
ReplyDeleteDon't believe them, it was truly a collaborative effort. I won't take all the credit. If it weren't for everyone, it would have been a silly book with one, ok, maybe two pages.
I will agree that it was Artfest that opened so many wonderful doors for my growth, including the great relationships I've made because of, and through the project.
Deb
Aww, how beautiful and such a gorgeous collaborated work of love to be enjoyed. Magical indeed, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love that others treasure my sister as much as I do. That is soooo cool...

Great looking journal, what a nice surprise. I am a relatively new blogger and have been hearing "artfest*artfest*artfest*" on everything for a week or two, and wasn't sure what everyone was talking about. I can't wait to read details when everyone gets back, so I can make plans to attend the next. It has almost a mystical aura about it.
ReplyDeleteHi Teesha,
ReplyDeleteSIMPLY STUNNING!
You inspire SO many of us!! And I agree with karla. I live in CT and have heard so much about Artfest. Sounds exciting and I look forward to learning more about it!
love,
