I know it isn't even thanksgiving yet but couldn't resist a little holiday decorating. Mary Stanley told me about this place in seattle called "Maxine's" and I went crazy. For anyone coming to Artfest, you might want to plan a stop here....and then Mary say's to eat at The Snappy Dragon close by...which I will do the next time I go. Anyway...here is just a taste of christmas for my thanksgiving guests coming over. Then the day after turkey day is when we go chop down a tree high up on the mountain and finish the rest of the holiday decorations. ...is the fake snow too cheesy? I usually don't do much holiday decorating so this is all new to me...
Teesha your Christmas decorating is so nice and warm and cozy looking. Your snow looks fine.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny but I don't usually decortate either because we leave and go to the Portland Area where my family lives, but today when I was at my Studio/Storage I had my son pull down the holiday boxes! I miss all the festive decor so this year I am going for it.
Have a great Thanksgiving.
Oh and thanks for the Maxine tip. I was just on the internet looking for new places to shop.

I love what you found at Maxine's! what a great little village you made...check my Blog for another store you would LOVE..Mary
ReplyDeleteWe just decorated the holiday office with 90 elves...so totally cute...and politically correct...although we think we may just have to call them height challenged Americans to be pc about it in the workplace...your room looks fabulously festive and everyone loves snow...we just went to the tree lighting at Lake Las Vegas, and they blew real snow at the end and adults and children alike were froliking around in great delight just to see snow...it does something to people...

I'll have to look Maxine's up tomorrow! I've not decorated but it's only for lack of time. I've gotten into the spirit early this year. My son is finally old enough that I can put up the village I've been buying pieces for these past few years. Your village looks so beautiful! I love those trees.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your Christmas scenes!! And no I don't think the snow is too cheezy!! Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas decorations are lovely!! If you are looking out for some more cool stuff you can jus peep into my Holiday Blog..........
ReplyDeleteI love the whole look. Holiday trim has to be the tiniest bit cheesy or it looks too serious.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Thanksgiving!
I am CRAZY for decorating for the holidays!! So, I'm always happy to see when others get into it too! If it brings you and others happiness, it's never cheesy.
ReplyDeleteI say "Go for it"! :-)

Ahhh... to be able to chop down one's tree. How nice! I love the fake snow you used for your little vignette - I think it's retro and very fun. I'll be displaying a small, powder pink tree this year! Can't get much campier than that.
ReplyDeletenothing is cheesy when it comes to christmas, the more the merrier, i say!! i love bottle brush christmas trees and i keep buying them, some day i will have a whole forest of the little buggers!

ReplyDeleteI especially like your lights in the windows! Maxine's also does a wonderful job with flowers. Daughter LE lives around the corner and had her wedding flowers done there. She knows color! Be sure and get the homemade noodles at the Snappy Dragon...my mouth is watering...
ReplyDeleteWell Teesha, your snow scene was a preview of coming events. WOW isn't it beautiful outside? Kathy (Oly)
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny, I was just checking out the holiday stuff over there! Like my Mum just said, I live on the street halfway between Maxine's and Snappy Dragon, and I like to let Mary and her stay at my house for ArtFest events, so I guess now I have them hooked. The Maple Leaf neighborhood is very artsy, from the bycicle on the roof on 89th St to the amazing Xmas lights on 14th Ave. If you are not visiting that area around a meal time, check out Cloud City Coffee which is right by Maxine's, for amazing scones and smooth lattes. Also, across the street and further towards Northgate is Ace Hardware with THE most friendly and helpful staff ever. Won't be long before NE Roosevelt Way gets some play in Sunset Magazine, mark my words.
