So I tried to take some time to make something this weekend. Both of these are journal pages printed onto fabric. The first one is hand quilted and the second one is machine quilted. I actually don't like either all that much, but they will probably end up incorporated into a fabric journal at some point. I also did a lot of journaling which I'll show you when the pages are done. Actually I did emjoy hand quilting again. Tracy and I are working our way through Season One of Battlestar Galactica so it makes me feel better if I can sit there and do something.
I think I am a late bloomer in this sort of thing. So printing on fabric eh? I haven't done it before. Is it easy? I am thrilled you used the collage material. I would love to see it when you feel up to it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the info on How I Journal, interesting for me as I've never tried anything remotely linked to paint and brushes, except walls. Off to play
ReplyDeleteBattlestar Galactica - possibly the second best sci fi show ever (after firefly)
ReplyDeleteIt was thanks to you How to Journal section that I discovered watercolour crayons - just love them.
Yes, like Anahata, I'd love to know what process/materials you use to print on fabric, Teesha!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so excited that you have a blog now.
ReplyDeleteCool beans! ;)
Also I see you don't have the word verification turned on for your comments. If you are slammed with spam comments (ads in disguise) just go to your settings and add in word verification function.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps!
These are gorgeous! I just discovered your blog (thought I've long known your work!) and have been catching up a little -- I love the header your daughter did for you; I've been wanting to add a personalized header to my site too.) As for Battlestar Galactica, my husband and I are almost done with season 2 and we're so in love with it, we're spreading the gospel of BSG. Ha! I even wrote a post about it recently! (Also, I realized your Sunday Scribblings link isn't working, so I was going to try to fix it, but I couldn't find your "scribbling" -- is it on this site? thanks!)
ReplyDeleteoh I can never just sit and watch the televison - so I know what you mean. I love what you have done so far!
ReplyDeleteSo LOVE your fabric journal pages!!! I'm anxious to learn how you did it!!! Maybe an article in Art and Life!!!
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned BSG. The original or the new one??? I loved the original!
